READYMADES

MISKIN MUSIC TECH YEAR 2 TERM 1 2024

OVERVIEW
READYMADES

This assignment requires you to consider the very essence of creativity and how it informs your approach to your work. What is it to be an artist? Are the important qualities of an artwork embodied in the technique or the idea? What is talent? How do we transcend rather than copy the artists that inspire us?
You will produce a portfolio of 4 pieces of music.
Each piece will embody an identified creative objective in a given context.

You will produce a technical portfolio outlining how you developed new skills.
Your new skills should be implemented into your creative work. You will develop and put into practice technical mixing skills which you will evidence in your submissions.

You will provide research and evaluative work to support both your creative and technical portfolios.

IN THE FIRST 6 WEEKS OF THE COURSE YOU WILL DELIVER ONE PIECE CREATED PREDOMINANTLY FROM "FOUND" AND MANIPULATED AUDIO, ONE TECHNICAL MIX SUBMISSION, AND ONE PIECE THAT TELLS ME ABOUT YOU (CREATIVE PORTFOLIO)
